  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Per The Sun, Osimhen has reportedly asked for £500,000-a-week wages before he completes a move to Chelsea. If the Blues agree to the striker's demands, it would make him highest-earning player in the Premier League. However, it is unlikely that the English giants would be willing to pay such a massive sum to the Nigerian forward.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Chelsea are looking to reduce their wage bill this season, which is one of the main reasons they have decided to offload Raheem Sterling. The club have been negotiating with Napoli and Osimhen's representatives throughout the summer but failed to reach an agreement. They had initially offered a loan deal to Napoli as they were not willing to match the player's release clause which is set at €130 million (£110m/$145m).

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Osimhen is expected to exit the Serie A club this summer after he reportedly handed a transfer request to the club. However, his move to Stamford Bridge will depend upon whether he would agree to reduce his wage demands. Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on signing the forward, while Arsenal are said to be hovering in the background, as they continue to monitor his situation.
